5 days to strengthen the European Maker Movement.
A major recognition for our movement: being hosted directly at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC). A 5-day « Sprint » to consolidate the European maker movement, develop high-level professional skills, and dialogue as equals with innovation
« Finde Deinen »: Us and the City
Hosted by ZAM and the German network (VOW), we used this edition to redesign our governance towards greater democracy. A seminar rooted in local reality, highlighting the concrete impact of maker initiatives on sustainable cities, soft mobility, and social innovation.
Learning Networks In Europe
Hosted within the Center Rog, we explored the power of artistic and technical residency programmes. This edition connected a targeted community of makers directly with a major public institution, facilitating talent recruitment and knowledge sharing on the European stage.
From distributed initiative to Makers in Residency
Marking our return after the pandemic in a region often underrepresented, this edition collaborated with the City of Fundão to upskill our network. We focused on mastering European programmes (Horizon, Erasmus+) to finance mobility and professionalize residency hosting, helping local spaces position themselves as hubs for international talent.
Creation of a research team around Vulca
A decisive step for structuring research within Vulca. In partnership with Zaklad Makerspace and the Polish network, we initiated a unique symbiotic relationship: allowing researchers to understand our ecosystem from the inside, while ensuring the « Maker » perspective is accurately represented in academic work.
A better understanding of European Research
Co-organized with the Fab Foundation and Clermont Auvergne University, this seminar marked a strategic opening. By connecting our community with European policy makers (JRC) and researchers, we demonstrated that makers are credible actors in innovation and European research, effectively bridging the gap between our ecosystem and global academia.
From a citizen idea to an european dynamic
Hosted by the French Fablab Network (RFFLabs) as their first annual gathering, this inaugural edition laid the foundations of Vulca. More than just a meeting, it was the pivotal moment where a citizen idea transformed into a concrete European dynamic, connecting French makers with their international counterparts for the first time.
